What We Do

Men of Faith and men of action

 Newpaper

From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Columbus organization set a new all-time record in 2012 for charitable donbations and service hours. More than $167 Million and 70 Million hours were donated to charity.

The Fredericksburg Council (#4034) of the Knights of Columbus during the last Fraternal Year helped those in need, and those who cannot help themselves. Our Yard Sale, Christmas Tree sales, Keep Christ in Christmas cards, and the Kovar drive made it possible for us to give $6,000 to students at area Catholic Schools. We helped finance the purchase of two new ultrasound machines for Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center, which will help them counsel pregnant women, in their marvelous Culture of Life ministry. The Council was able to help 10 charities through the Monthly Family dinners, such as Birthright of Fredericksburg, Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter, and Holy Cross Academy were just a few of those. We continue to sponsor Boy Scout Troop 165, and our Columbian Squires and Squire Roses programs, all three of which produce leaders of the future. We wish to thank all who donated to Kovar, where we give tootsie rolls, and accept donations, 100% of which goes to help those with intellectual disabilities. Fredericksburg's generosity and charity have helped tremendously, in some ways producing miraculous works. Council 4034 plans for an even better year, beginning Monday, July 1, 2013.
